Video Recording Spy Sunglasses

Spy Sunglasses
Here’s another neat spying gadget, the spy sunglasses. The spy sunglasses record everything you see in front of you within a 92-degree field-of-view, allowing you to capture a much broader spectrum than you may be actually looking at. Your regular, direct vision captures only 3-degrees.

The camera lens is situated above the nose-piece, in between your eyes. Small wires run from the back of the glasses, to the included media device, which stores the recorded video in MPEG-4 format, allowing you to keep the hardware in your pocket, and not get any suspicious looks. It also requires no external battery besides the device, so you can travel light.

Not only does it capture video, however, it also records crystal clear digital audio so you don’t need to have any separate equipment for your top secret mission.

I bet there’s a lot of things I could do with this gadget, although I’m not really the sunglasses type, and my friends are suspicious of most things anyway. Although I think it would be fun to try, this gadget is being aimed at small businesses, which may make it a bit harder to get your hands on one.

I bet the audio recording is not stereo and, worst than that, distorts if the sound you are recording is fairly loud such as a concert or in front of a band. Don’t bother checking the specs on that. I already looked. Casio EX series cameras use automatic level control for audio recording but unfortunately I dropped my EX-500 and broke the lcd. :( . My Samsung camera I bought to replace it takes good pix and video but the audio distorts way too easy and then sounds like crap.

What a cool toy indeed! I can see this working wonders for my wife who loves spying on me when I hang out with my buddies. Which makes it not such a cool toy after all …! ;)

This would be perfect in getting my son to remember his “promises.” He always says, “I swear, this is the last time that I’ll come home after curfew!” Or, “I promise, this is the last time that I’ll ever ask you to buy anything for me!” :P

These look not bad for 2006! Much better stuff now as I see some other people have mentioned lately. I put a link on my name to a site that gives better options, although, these are meant more for hands free lifestyle recording rather than spying on people. Same idea just a lot better due to advances in technology.

Perfect for spying on the kids when they’re at home hanging out with friends. ;) Now that my girls are teenagers, dad has suddenly become too uncool to hang out with — and I often wonder what “cool” things they always seem to be giggling about!
