The oculas cocoon hideaway for $45,000
by Paz in Home Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets
Ever feel that things are getting on top of you? Perhaps you need a bit of privacy or time to yourself?
Well for a cool $45,000 you can buy yourself an Oculas, created by the Maclaren Formula One designer Lee McCormack.
The Oculas is private cocoon-like space packed full of gadgets. It comes with a choice of Mac or PC, games console, an optional massage chair, and a flat panel screen so you can watch your favourite DVD films – with surround sound of course.
The Oculas is made of fibreglass, upholstered in red leather, and the door is electronically operated. The ambient temperature is controlled from a console, as is the colour and level of lighting, so you can adjust the ambience for reading, watching a film, or sleeping.
What can I say? It’s a lot of money to shut yourself off from the outside world, and I have to say even though the Oculas isn’t my thing, it’s certainly intriguing!
Order now from Hammacher Schlemmer, but be warned that “…special conditions and guarantee limitations apply to this product“. I can imagine!
