My child (under 12) and I can both hear the 17KHz ringtone. We downloaded some pure sine waves, however and neither of us could hear the 17KHz tone. Just for fun, we played 15KHz and 16KHz, too (pure sine waves). My child heard both of those. I could not hear either one.
