An interesting technology is being developed by the military where they will use ultrasound to heal wounds rather than conventional means.

The plan is to equip medics with a portable ultrasound healer that can cauterise damaged blood vessels on the field. This can be used to stop both internal and external bleeding so could be a real life and limb saver.
