Forget Plasters use Ultrasound

June 28th, 2006 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Ultrasound WoundsAn interesting technology is being developed by the military where they will use ultrasound to heal wounds rather than conventional means.

The plan is to equip medics with a portable ultrasound healer that can cauterise damaged blood vessels on the field. This can be used to stop both internal and external bleeding so could be a real life and limb saver.

The prototype isn’t due for about 18 months, for further info check out the full article on the BBC.
