Buy Your Own Mobile Surveillance Robot

Camera Robot

Following the PatrolBot we reported on yesterday, I’ve just seen that Think Geek are also selling a Surveillance Robot the SRV-1. It does look a lot simpler than the PatrolBot but is still pretty cool.

The SRV-1 Mobile Surveillance Robot comes fully assembled but still looks like you made it your self. The instructions say you need a bit of technical knowledge to start the Java application but I can’t see any of our readers having a problem with that.

Remote Robot Control ScreenFeatures include:

  • Drive robot manually via web browser with live video feed
  • Built in proximity sensors can be toggled on or off to assist when driving the robot manually
  • Archive video on demand or via schedule
  • Control access to robot and video feed via multiple user accounts
  • Roving mode allows autonomous exploration with basic vision detection
  • Wireless control up to 300 feet from host computer
  • Fully open source and programmable

Available for $374.99 at Think Geek.
