Flashing umbrellas

The Twilight Umbrella

Definitely a kitschy gadget and it’s a pity we don’t have a “kitsch” category for this one – but it’s certainly unique though.

The Twilight Umbrella has eight strips of fibre optic lights that glow in 5 different colours, phasing between blue, green, yellow, purple and red. You can set a switch to either continuous phasing between colours, or in a random mode.

It runs off 3 AAA batteries and at £19.99, doesn’t cost that much more than a regular umbrella.

It seems strange that this umbrella gadget would turn up in the summer season, but as you well know, summers pass too quickly and it won’t be that long before those dark, wet nights will back upon us.

Who knows, perhaps putting one of these up might help bring a little winter cheer!
