MPI Battery Powered Heat Socks
I’ve always been a sucker for practical gadgets that one can use on a daily basis! So when I came across MPI Outdoor’s Heat Sox (battery-powered heated socks to the masses) I was extra excited. Coming as I do from the rainy temperate climate of Western Europe, I heartily appreciate the toasty toe feelings that a pair of warm socks engender.

So how do the Heat Sox do the job? A ‘D’ cell battery powers heating elements that are woven into the sock. And before you get worried about the safety of the socks, MPI Outdoors says that the socks operate at such a low amperage that it eliminates “all possibility of shock or burn, even when wet.”

A standard ‘D’ cell battery lasts for lasts for about 10 hours on High and for 12 hours on Low. The battery itself, is cleverly lodged in a pouch at the top of each sock.

Heat Sox are available from Amazon.com for an affordable $24.95
