Nokia N93 - More Camcorder than Mobile
May 1st, 2006 by Al in Mobile Phones, Photography
Recording video on you mobile has been an added extra for the last few years, now Nokia have taken this to the next level with the new Twist ‘n’ Shoot N93. The Nokia N93 has all the features required to be a replacement for your camcorder, the screen twists out so that you can hold it and film like a conventional video camera. Whilst the 3.2 megapixel camera (with Carl Zeiss optics) is capable of DVD quality recordings.
The N93 also incorporates a 20x digital zoom alongside an impressive 3x optical zoom (no loss of quality). When the screen is flipped out (in what I’d call camcorder mode) all the required filming buttons are located where your fingers and thumbs would expect. It even has digital stabilisation for those shakey hand moments.
When you’ve finished filming you can rest the N93 on any flat surface, flip the screen into viewing mode and watch your masterpiece. You can also use the screen like this for browsing the web, watching downloaded video content or the odd video call. As standard it comes with 50MB of memory though I reckon you’ll need to upgrade that immediately if you want to make the most of its impressive recording capabilities.
Other features include a built in FM radio, media player, oh and it can make and receive calls too.
The Nokia N93 is due out in the UK July this year (2006) and will be priced around £395 though if you get it on a contract expect a hefty saving.
