Credit Card Flash
Portable flash drives seem to be getting smaller and smaller. It was only a matter of time before some body made a credit card version and here it is, courtesy of Walletex.
The Walletex offering known as the Wallet Flash™ is slightly thicker than a conventional credit card and can hold up to 2GB of portable data. Connection is via a sticky out USB 2.0 connector to the side of the card which should offer speedy transfer rates.
If I’d seen this a few years ago I’d of been amazed at the size (not as amazed as at the matchbox projectors). But over the last couple of years flash technology has got smaller and smaller, you can now get the same capacity SD Card fairly cheaply that’s quarter of the size of a credit card.
The Wallet Flash™ has a built-in USB connector though you may want to be careful of it as wallets are not the most protector of containers (especially when carried in some fat technicians back pocket).
As easy to carry flash drives go it looks very good and can certainly justify being called credit card sized. However to me it doesn’t offer any more than my trusty 2GB keyring and 1GB mobile, so until I lose my keys I’ll stick with that for now.
