Festoon Beta – for Skype and GoogleTalk
Skype has been one of the leading voice conference software, downloaded by millions over the world. In addition, Google, introducing GoogleTalk, has recently rise up to challenge the other Internet Messaging (IM) clients, such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and ICQ. Currently, MSN, Yahoo and ICQ offered video chats, but GoogleTalk and Skype are lacking in this area. Nonetheless, Santa Cruz Networks has developed Festoon, a form of plug-in to allow video and sharing in Skype and GoogleTalk.
It is quite simple to get started. With a camera (webcam) attached, download Festoon Beta plug-in,and install the software. Installation is a breeze, and it is advised that GoogleTalk and Skype have to be installed prior installing Festoon Beta. Festoon Beta has the capability to allow users to see each other on one-on-one or invite up to 200 buddies to a video call – even if they don’t have a camera. In addition, users can also share anything they have on their screen, including the entire desktop. With Festoon’s immersive EyeCandy video effects, users can add fun to your video experience, including funhouse mirrors, motion colors, and crazy cutouts.
Festoon Beta is certainly useful for intensive Skype and GoogleTalk users, who would love to have an option of a video chat feature. My experience with Festoon Beta has been quite an experience. Unfortunately, I do not have many users in GoogleTalk nor Skype to fully exploit the capability of Festoon Beta. Download Festoon Beta today to give it a try.
