The shape of things to come?

Wearable computer
Just as we now look back and chuckle at the size of, for example, the original Sony Walkman I can’t help but wonder if we’ll be doing the same with these in the next decade.

First it was the PDA wristwatch. Now Eurotech have announced a wearable PC. Granted it looks like a prop reject from Space 1999 but as a way of taking information with you the idea is sound.

They’re pitching it at the emergency services and other professional industries which makes sense – something that size is never going to be a “lifestyle” buy. Nice idea though so perhaps once someone gets around to inventing a holographic display we’ll all be able to carry our PCs around on our wrists.

They’ve also included a GPS, a touchscreen, 802.11b and bluetooth.
