Illuminated Sinks *Confused*
by Al in Home Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets
As gadgets go many are pretty pointless but still fun and useful in some kind of quirky way. I’m struggling to find a use (beside the obvious) of these sinks that light up, some may say they look cool whilst I’m not so sure I’d class an LED illuminated sink as cool.
This is taken from the manufacturers site
An illuminated, wall-mounted, polyethylene sink. Available with internal multicolored, programmable LED light unit, or with a regular light fitting.
Includes wall-mounting set, halogen (or LED multichromatic, programmable) light unit & transformer. Faucet, waste set sold separately.
I think multichromatic means in more than one color but I’m just hazarding a guess there.
They also do a matching bath, but disappointingly no neon toilets so you’ll just have to put up with the current methods of toilet pan coloring.
The one use I can see is to be able to was your hands without turning the light on, but the washing of hands will be the least of your worries if you’ve just done the business in the dark.
You can find more info (and actually some other cool looking furniture) here.

“Available with internal multicolored, programmable LED light unit”
The only use I could think of was the same as yours

December 13th, 2006 at 12:50 pmI could think of a few uses for it. Some houses have a bathroom in the hallway areas which are rather poorly lit at night. If you couldn’t put a nightlight in, having an illuminated sink could be handy, especially for young children or older people. Then there’s the “fashion” of having something no one else has. Even if no one else wants it.

September 9th, 2008 at 2:38 pmThose are pretty sick. It would be even cooler with a glass bowl and some LEDs or maybe copper sinks, they would have some crazy colors coming out of them.
