The Geeky Belt Buckle

Scrolling LED Belt Buckle
I was browsing around Think Geek and came across this cool LED powered belt buckle. It consists of 147 LED lights that you can program to display scrolling messages. Whether you’d want to be seen in public wearing one is a different matter.

They come in red or blue so you can get one to match the rest of your attire so it doesn’t look odd and out of place :)

Now onto the technical details:

  • Onboard speed and brightness adjustments
  • All functions can be programmed without a computer (using the onboard programming buttons)
  • Can store up to 6 messages, each message 256 characters long
  • Takes two CR2032 batteries (included)
  • Comes with user manual
  • Dimensions: 5.3″ x 1.8″

This has also inspired me to create a new page on Coolest Gadgets, Gadget Gifts Ideas which will be an ever growing list of gadgets that you can buy for people when you just can’t think of what else to get them.

As you’d expect this buckle is available from ThinkGeek

Cute, but I think I’d use the badge instead. Call me a wuss, but having people staring at my chest doesn’t seem quite as disturbing as my crotch.

Cool i’ve just found a website http://www.ledgadgets.dk where they sell these cool LED belt buckles in Scandinavia. Just a suggestion for scandinavien people. The website is in danish, but the LED belt buckle is called “LED bælte”.
