[Edit: Gizmodo bring word that this is a fake, and who am I to dispute them? The specs sound iffy enough and the website doesn’t scream “high tech innovator”. They should still get an award for the most technobble product name though!]
Falling squarely in the “too many buzzwords to count” category Atom Chip corp have come up with a new “Quantum Optical” memory technology that should allow silly amounts of solid state storage to be made available.
They also reckon it can be used as RAM as well as storage, so to debut their technology they’ve announced a 6.8 Ghz laptop with 1TB RAM and 2TB solid state storage! (Yep, you read that right)
The spec reads like a geek wishlist (I can’t think of an acronym that isn’t in there) so if it really does exist it’ll be something to behold, but we have to wait until CES in January next year to get a peek at it.
Unfortunately the website is a little scant on detail – it shows some generic pictures of high-tech clean rooms and a laptop with some impressive looking screens and that’s about it.
