Preview: Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
August 18th, 2005 by Al in Electronic GadgetsNokia are most renowned for their mobile phones but that may soon change with the up and coming release of the new Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
It runs on Linux and can be used to browse the web at broadband speed via it’s inbuilt Wi-Fi or when Wi-Fi isn’t available you could connect using any compatible blue tooth phone.
The GUI is controlled via stylus (like PDAs) which for browsing the web might work quite well as you’ll just need to drag the page around and tap links to follow them.
It’s due for release in the third quarter of 2005 and I can see it being on a lot of gadget freak Santa lists shortly after that. If you want more info check out the official site

August 20th, 2005 at 4:05 pmI had a play on a PSP last weekend and that also offers WiFi browsing (as well as games obviously) I’ll certainly be getting something like that in the near future. With the GPS thing if you can get USB GPS devices that might work with either.
